Several times each summer, we come together for pool time and BBQ. What better way to enjoy the ease of summer than with a pool party! This multi-generational event brings us all together to cool off in the pool, visit over dinner, and play on the playground and on the basketball court.
The Mah Jongg Club meets twice a month, usually on Wednesdays. We started from scratch in 2016, figuring out the rules and learning how to play from a couple members who had played before. We love having new players and teaching beginners the fascinating game of Mah Jongg.
The annual New Year Apple Picking trip is a great family activity. Generally scheduled for September, it is fun to spend an afternoon outside with friends from Temple Shalom and to get your apples for Rosh Hashanah!
In 2016, The Sumner and Peggy Sinrich Playground at Temple Shalom was redesigned and rededicated, with natural logs and stumps for climbing and jumping, two wooden playhouses for playing shop or family play, a crushed gravel path for bikes and trikes and the most amazing sand and water area complete with an old-fashioned water pump.
Camp Six Acres, a non-religious summer camp in the Temple Shalom buildings, has been a staple in the Medford community for over 50 years. The camp offers four two-week sessions, each with a unique theme. Campers enjoy sports, swimming in our in-ground pool, arts and crafts, and an afternoon of other activities to choose from.
