Join us as we celebrate Shabbat under the stars! Each month from June to September, we choose one (or two) Fridays to have a casual dinner outside on the lawn. Then we share an early, family-friendly Shabbat service. These relaxed luncheons, prepared and served by the men of Temple Shalom, are a wonderful time to welcome the new year with friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Yom Kippur, a group of volunteers cook and serve a traditional meal to break the fast at the end of services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, contact <a href=\"mailto:events@templeshalommedford.org\">events@templeshalommedford.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading alignwide has-text-align-center has-central-palette-2-color has-text-color\">Sukkah Decorating and Community Sukkot Dinner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignfull is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-left:20px;flex-basis:60%\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">After the High Holidays congregants join with the children in the Religious School to spend a Sunday afternoon making decorations and hanging them in our community sukkah. Members with a sukkah are welcome to sign up as hosts or just join in as a \u201chopper.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addresses are sent beforehand, and you can visit several homes before meeting back for a community falafel dinner in the Temple Shalom sukkah. It\u2019s the perfect way to revel in the joy of Sukkot, appreciate the beauty of many sukkahs and connect with the rest of the TSM community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, contact <a href=\"mailto:events@templeshalommedford.org\">events@templeshalommedford.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignfull has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 30%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-right has-central-palette-2-color has-text-color\">Hanukkah and Purim Parties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Every year, we host a Hanukkah party with homemade latkes and other treats, games, entertainment and make-your-own menorahs. Our Hebrew school students perform holiday songs and skits in the sanctuary, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">On Purim, people come from all around the area to celebrate at our carnival. There are games, prizes, skits, face painting and plenty of homemade hamantaschen! Children (and adults) are encouraged to wear a costume. Every year at Temple Shalom, the community gathers to bake over 1,500 hamantaschen and pack boxes of treats for every member of the congregation.&nbsp; We also accept orders to ship a Mishloach Manot box to your friends and family anywhere in the country.
