My name is Natan Fandel, and I am the Youth Education Director at Temple Shalom. With experience in both formal and informal educational settings, I have deepened my passion for Jewish Education, focusing on lived Judaism to engage students in hands-on experiences, such as Shabbat celebrations, projects, and storytelling, that bring Jewish values to life. By making Judaism a vibrant part of their daily experiences, I help students find joy and purpose in their heritage.
Through prayer, I guide students to connect deeply with Judaism, fostering reflection and a sense of spiritual grounding. My goal is to cultivate a welcoming temple community where every student feels valued, fostering a sense of belonging through shared rituals and open dialogue. Beyond the temple, we are empowering them to live out Jewish values and make a positive impact. All are welcome to join us in this vibrant, inclusive community.

- Teachers: Temple Shalom Religious School draws much of its staff from local universities, in particular Tufts University, Hebrew College, and Lesley University, and includes undergraduates, graduate students, and professional Jewish educators. In addition to classroom teachers, we utilize specialists for shira and tefillah enrichment. Rabbi Jessica Dell’Era works closely with our staff and facilitates many programs and lessons for our students, as well as staff professional development.
- Madrichim: Temple Shalom teens volunteer at the religious school as classroom assistants, as snack helpers, and supporting projects and programs
